Last week we celebrated one of the most popular sections at InGoal with ProReads Week...publishing a new ProRead each day to raise our total to 187 reads from 31 different NHL Goalies.
We also began a redesign of our ProReads page with an index where you can find the reads from your favorite goalies. We've added pages for more 24 of the best from Carey Price to Thatcher Demko, Linus Ullmark...and many more with more to come.
As new pages get added to index individual goalies, you'll see their names in blue, indicating you can click through for more. There you'll see pages like this one for Carey Price and the seven Pro-Reads he did for us. On top is a video player where you can watch each video without going to the full article we write for each one. But if you want the full experience, scroll down for thumbnails of each of his articles that give you direct access to them.
We think ProReads is the best learning experience for goalies of all ages - and we know you'll find them even easier to work with now.
Looking back on Pro-Reads week here are the eight reads we published:
Have you checked out these recent editions of Pro Reads?
Connor Hellebuyckβs first two entries into Pro Reads have featured 2-on-1 rush chances (and there is third coming soon with a similar theme), in part because the Vezina Trophy winner is statistically the best in the NHL at managing these types of attacks, and by a large margin. With that in mind, we also wanted to share a drill with the Winnipeg Jets star that isolated that type of attack, and Hellebuyck was kind enough to talk about some of his keys to it.
π€ Episode 222 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features Connor Ingram, who is coming off a breakout season with the Arizona Coyotes.
In the feature interview, presented by Sense Arena, Ingram shares lots of great tips from his time with the Coyotes (and Nashville Predators before that), including things heβs picked up along the way from other goalies and coaches, like how Juuse Saros changes his post integration from toe box to skate blade based on the situation, or how the handedness of a shooter matters on dump-ins when you try to collect the puck behind the net. Ingram also gets into the evolution of his own game and approach, including an increase in the use of shuffles based on a conversation with Coyotes goaltending coach Corey Schwab this season.
All that, plus a trip to The Hockey Shop Source for Sports for a review of the new Bauer KONEKT HF2, the second price point (and intermediate sizing) alternative to their ski boot style skate.
