InGoal Magazine partners with WHL and Hockey Canada on 2020 Goaltending Symposium
- InGoal Magazine co-hosted the first-ever WHL/Hockey Canada Goaltending Symposium on June 18–19, 2020, bringing together 60+ goalie coaches from junior to NHL levels.
- NHL goaltending coaches Scott Murray (Washington Capitals), David Alexander (St. Louis Blues), and Dustin Schwartz (Edmonton Oilers) were featured speakers at the two-day digital symposium.
- Carter Hart (Philadelphia Flyers) and 11-year NHL veteran Jason LaBarbera participated in a goaltending hot stove hosted by Daren Millard of InGoal Magazine.
- The symposium included participants from all 22 WHL member clubs, 17 Hockey Canada coaches, and representatives from OHL, QMJHL, and four provincial hockey associations.

InGoal Magazine is thrilled and honoured to announce we will be hosting and sponsoring the first ever WHL / Hockey Canada Goaltending Symposium, an online gathering of more than 60 goalie coaches from across Canada and right up the the NHL, on June 18 and 19.
The WHL announced the new partnership with Hockey Canada and InGoal Magazine on Wednesday.
The objective of the WHL / Hockey Canada Goaltending Symposium presented by InGoal Magazine is to create and enhance professional development opportunities, collaboration, networking, and mentorship amongst WHL goaltending coaches.
This two-day event will provide professional development opportunities through digital webinars for all 22 WHL member Club goaltending consultants, 17 Hockey Canada coaches, representatives from BC Hockey, Hockey Alberta, Saskatchewan Hockey Association, and Hockey Manitoba, as well as representatives from the Ontario Hockey League and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League offices.
Guest speakers for the two-day goaltending symposium include assistant coach Glen Gulutzan (Edmonton Oilers), video coach Tyler Dietrich (Hockey Canada), sports psychologist John Stevenson (Zone Performance), and goaltending coaches Scott Murray (Washington Capitals), David Alexander (St. Louis Blues), Matt Weninger (Moose Jaw Warriors / Hockey Alberta), Dustin Schwartz (Edmonton Oilers), Kurtis Mucha (Edmonton Oil Kings), Ian Gordon (Seattle Thunderbirds), and Dan De Palma (Kamloops Blazers).
The event will conclude with a goaltending hot stove hosted by InGoal Magazine’s Daren Millard (Vegas Golden Knights) and featuring Carter Hart (Philadelphia Flyers / WHL Alumni) and 11-year NHL veteran Jason LaBarbera (Calgary Hitmen / Hockey Canada).
