Anyone who understands hockey knows that goaltenders are a special breed. It takes a combination of outstanding athleticism, a strong commitment to mental toughness and preparation, and a fearless approach as skilled athletes fire pucks at speeds up to 100 mph at you. There are many different preparation styles and training methods to becoming a premiere goalie and while we believe that we have designed an outstanding program oriented to achieving success, we also respect the training that other aspiring goalies have received from some of their other mentors along their paths. Our training staff have a combined 127 years of goalie training experience to draw from and we share all that training and experience with our students.

LaCouvee Goaltending
At the end of the day, LaCouvee Goaltending is about more than just stopping pucks. It’s about having fun, believing in yourself, and learning how to push through setbacks.
I want goalies to leave my camps not only with better skills but with the confidence to face challenges head-on and the mindset to keep improving long after the camp ends.
My biggest motivation is to see my goalies succeed — to help them avoid the mistakes I made and go further than I ever did. Whether that’s reaching junior hockey, NCAA, or even the NHL, I want to give them the tools to make the most of their potential.
Because I’m still a current pro goalie, I understand what today’s game demands: the speed, the reads, and the decisions that separate good goalies from great ones. That’s why I focus not just on the technical side of the game, but also the tactical and mental components that make all the difference when the pressure’s on.
I’m not just a coach, I’m invested in each goalie’s journey, and I’m here to support them long after the ice gets scraped.

Gould Goaltending
Here at Gould Goaltending we believes in allowing goaltenders to develop and improve their own style of goal tending. We believe that while each goaltender is unique in their technique they all have a common need for technical development, concentration, strength, flexibility and control of game situations.
The school strives to combine a broad development of the goalie’s knowledge of the game with a focused enhancement to each goalie’s individual techniques. Our goal is achieved by providing a balanced curriculum of off-ice training classroom instruction, on-ice training and video analysis with the best instructors available.
Goalies receive the highest quality instruction for a limited number of goalies. The low student/ instructor ratio allows each goalie to practice more in a given time slot, and allows the instructors to get to know each goalie’s specific needs. Every goalie has their own unique style. We work with the goaltender’s style and don’t try to change it.

Jon Elkin’s Goalie Schools
Jon has developed many NHL goalies: Stanley Cup Champions, NHL Allstars, NHL Rookie of the Years and NHL starters. Besides running Jon Elkin’s Goalie Schools, Elkin has been a NHL goalie coach for four organizations. He left the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) at the start of last season and is now the Director of Goaltending for the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL).
Prescience, an analytical mind, and good common sense have kept Jon ahead of technical and tactical trends. He led the way teaching the butterfly in the early 1990s and understood from day one that patience and reacting were crucial components. The RVH or what Elkin calls “post knee down” had complimented his system long before widespread adoption.
An expert in goaltending movement, Jon identifies details that may normally go unnoticed and implements appropriate adjustments. Pattern recognition from studying hundreds of goalies and thousands of games per year combined with 41 years of coaching experience ensures that goalies receive world class guidance.
