With season underway for most goalies we share some advice on how to make sure goalie parents are ready to have their best year ever β and help your kids do same!
In this week's ProRead, taken from our sit down with Laurent Brossoit the week of his Stanley up Party, we look at the importance of gaining early rotation before a lateral push, Brossoit's preference to shuffle rather than t-push and even a few mistakes he felt he made - despite coming up with a great save.

presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports
π€ Episode 231 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features the return of Thomas Magnusson, Sweden's head of goaltending development.
The feature interviews, presented by Sense Arena, Magnusson, who is also co-founder and co-owner of Sweden Hockey Institute, catches us up on his seemingly never-ending journey to learn more about the position he loves, including journeys to the dark side of scoring development that has put the goalies in a position of playing catch up, and being invited to present to the Toronto Maple Leafs on how workload affects goalie health and performance. It's another deep dive into the art and science of goaltending, including great insights into why (and how) goalie coaches may need to re-thinking practice plans, applicable lessons of Ecological Dynamics from a virtual Sport Movement Skill Conference, and the impact of soon-to-be Hall of Fame Henrik Lundqvist on goaltending in Sweden.
Also, we talk about the upcoming coaches conference at the 2024 World Junior Championship in Sweden. Anyone with a strong interest in learning from and participating in the discussions at the goaltending stream of the conference are welcome to attend, which also include tickets to the bronze, silver and gold medal games of the tournament.
All that, plus an in-person trip to The Hockey Shop Source for Sports for a look at the new CCM AXIS XF mask, with an innovative new 3D printed liner that improves comfort, protection and breathability.

Devon Levi is now an official Brand Ambassador for Sense Arena. Of course InGoal Readers and Listeners will know he's been using it as part of his training for years:
"I started using Sense Arena early in my college career and itβs been a game-changer for my development over the last few years. The technology gives me the ability to take shots without having to get all of my gear on or when I donβt have access to the ice when Iβm at a hotel or on the road. VR is a great tool to have in my back pocket if I need to see the puck and work on my game off the ice. Goalies back in the day didnβt have access to this β itβs something new and upcoming β so it provides an opportunity to really differentiate myself and my game.β

Coaches often talk about wanting goalies who can handle puck, but are you doing the work to get better at it? Kristen Campbell and Brad Kirkwood of Canada's National Team share tips to get that work done (and get better handling the puck) all within the context of your regular practice time.
Devon Levi walks us through the benefits of his in-game meditation (and its roots in a shared love for Star Wars with his father) in our latest Pro Tips segment.
Introducing "Goalie Tennis," a fun, competitive way to help goalies improve their puck-handing skills, with an emphasis on quick transitions and decision making. We watched it invented at Net360 Goalie Camp and now you can learn how to play and watch top pros evolve the rules.
When we introduced James Wendland to our InGoal Premium membership a few weeks ago with βFive damn things to improve hip health (and widen your butterfly),β the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Much like his clients James Reimer and Kristen Campbell, goalies who adopted the simple warm-up routine shared stories of almost immediate improvements.
Now Wendland is back with another βFive Damn Things,β but this time with a specific focus on the foot and ankle - another simple daily practice that will help you become a better goaltender.
βWhat in the world are these? Freaking ski boots?β From Charlie Lindgrenβs first thoughts, to his impressions a year later, plus feedback from other pros, CHL and NCAA goalies, you wonβt find a more in-depth review of the game-changing new @bauergoalie KONEKT skates: πfor all to read (and watch).
